About encoord
encoord (short for energy coordination) provides software tools, data, and advisory services to help energy stakeholders plan for the energy transition. encoord’s core technology is the Scenario Analysis Interface for Energy Systems (SAInt), a software platform to model and plan energy networks and markets.
encoord was founded in 2018, but SAInt’s roots stem back to 2013 when encoord's CTO, Dr. Kwabena Pambour, studied the interdependency of electricity and gas networks in Europe and realized the industry need for an integrated planning tool. encoord's CEO, Dr. Carlo Brancucci, joined Kwabena after being one of the first commercial users of SAInt and appreciating its potential to become the most advanced energy planning tool to solve the biggest challenges in a changing energy landscape.
encoord works with utilities, network operators, technology and project developers, regulatory agencies, and research organizations to solve operational and strategic challenges. Between its offices in the US and Germany, and a multicultural team representing over 15 countries, encoord serves customers internationally to change the future of energy.
About the Role
encoord seeks a candidate to fill the role of Senior Mathematical Modeler for a primarily research driven position. The candidate will directly support research and development in novel power system dynamic simulation approaches, with a strong focus on the rudiments underpinning differential system solution methods, including hybrid approaches.
Your Responsibilities
- Support the research and development efforts with analytical methods to assess the applicability of model reduction methods such as singular perturbation theory in intra-simulation frameworks.
- Explore adaptive solution methods for networked differential systems.
- Construct dynamical systems with multiple computational solution methods from assessing the viability of analytical conclusions.
- Execute fundamental, computational dynamic analyses where the purpose is integration with a power system simulation software.
- Other tasks as assigned.
This is a full-time, in-person position at encoord Inc.’s office in Denver, Colorado.
